DAILY DUNKS WITH DOTO

Today is day three of what I can only guess is the plague. No matter how bad it gets, I need to get moving along because it’s another day to play NBA DFS. I keep seeing that this is an ugly slate but oh baby, I am loving it. Smaller slates are my jam and before I get sick again let’s get to the plays for tonight.

Get at me on twitter or on the slack chat group (@lawrencedoto). I’ll be on and off all day because I got sent home from work. Let’s talk some DFS today fellas!

Point Guard:

The big three of Westbrook/Dame/Lowry- Westbrook has the worst match-up of the three but he clearly has the highest ceiling. Lowry has a dream match-up against the Suns but this game could easily be a blow out by halftime. Dame has been much better of late and gets to face a banged-up Wizards team at point guard and he should have no problem feasting tonight. On DK I think I am going to try to squeeze all three of them in because of the small slate and I want guaranteed points from my studs tonight. All three are good plays tonight.

Other plays I like: Tomas Satoransky (FD-$ 5,300 DK-$4,100 ) Tyler Ulis (FD-$4,000 DK-$3,900) Fred VanVleet

Shooting Guard:

Devin Booker (FD-$7,100 DK-$8,000)- Devin Booker is still too cheap on FD and when he is on a hot streak you play him. Toronto’s team defense is good but Oladipo just put up around 1,000 points on them a couple of nights ago. Back to backs don’t scare me too much for a young player but again the blow out factor does scare me. At this price and slate he is a good play tonight.

Alex Burks (FD-$4,800 DK-$4,500)- Can’t stop, won’t stop playing Alex Burks. Even with Gobert back in the lineup he still scored 40 FD points. I will keep playing him until he slows down but when he gets in the game he isn’t afraid to shoot the ball and that is what makes him a good play. I don’t care that he will be highly owned tonight, on smaller slates ownership percentage really doesn’t factor into who I am playing.

Other plays I like: DeMar DeRozan (FD-$8,700 DK-$8,500) Norman Powell (FD-$4,200 DK-$4,000)

Small Forward:

Paul George (FD-$8,600 DK-$8,400)- Paul George looked awful against the Spurs but I am buying into a bounce back game. Utah is a much better team defensively with Gobert back but they just don’t have the wing defenders to stop PG. He’s too good of a player and last time against the Jazz (without Gobert) he scored 40 FD points and played 37 minutes. This is exactly the type of game that I am expecting from PG, 35+ minutes and 35+ FD points.

TJ Warren (FD-$6,800 DK-$6,400)- TJ Warren is a safe play on a pretty crappy SF group of players tonight. He is at a good price and in a decent match-up and the players below Warren tonight aren’t very good. Paying up for SF is probably a good idea tonight because I don’t want to guess what bench player will see 20 minutes and let me team down.

Other plays I like: Otto Porter Jr (FD-$7,000 DK-$6,900)

Power Forwards:

Serge Ibaka (FD-$ 5,200) DK-$5,000) Yuck, I know but he has scored 20 FD points in the last seven games he has played. PF is uglier then (enter something witty here, I threw up in the middle of writing this article) and he seems pretty safe. He doesn’t have to do much to make it worth rostering him and the up and down game with extra possessions should help Ibaka. This might be the first and last time I roster him tonight.

Al-Farouq Aminu (FD-$4,600 DK-$4,200)- He has been cleared to play 30 minutes a game now. If I am paying down at a position the one thing I look for is minutes. He doesn’t have to do much tonight to return value and if he is aggressive on the offensive side of the ball he could easily reach six or seven times value.

Other plays I like: Pascal Siakam (FD-$4,800 DK-$3,900) or Jerami Grant (FD-$3,700 DK-$3,700)

Center:

Tyson Chandler (FD-$5,000 DK-$4,300)- The top priced centers have horrible match-ups. Say what you want about Chandler but when he gets minutes, he is a rebounding machine. He has magnet hands for the basketball and again it seems like a theme of the show but he doesn’t have to do much to return value. He’s averaging 10.5 points and 15 rebounds over the last two games. Old man Chandler will be in my lineups tonight.

Steven Adams (FD-$6,900 nice DK-$5,900)- I don’t know how much Gobert will play tonight but I don’t think it will be more than 25 mintues. Adams is a physical center and on the nights he is aggressive he can put up a huge stat line. The price is a little high but for whatever reason the Wizards have been good against centers and Nurkic can go missing during games.

Doto’s Dunks of the night: Russell Westbrook, Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, Tyson Chandler (if he starts)
