Daily Dunks With Doto

Last night I took a little breather from DFS just to give myself a mental break. I wasn’t in love with the slate last night and to be honest I feel fresh for tonight’s slate. Five game slates are ideal for cash games, there isn’t too much information to gather and over thinking won’t hurt us tonight. I am looking at the NY/BK and LAL/CLE game to build most of my cash game lineups around. Cleveland, New York and Dallas get a big bump in pace tonight. You know what’s annoying about this slate, the two and a half-hour wait from second to last game to the last game. Let’s take a look at this five-game slate and here are my cash game plays for the night, good luck everyone!

Point Guard

Lonzo Ball- Just punch me in my family jewels now, it will hurt a lot less than watching Ball play tonight. He will get us 40+ points or 10 and it’s going to be a ride on magic mountain either way. I think he will be highly owned because point guard is ugly tonight. He is definitely a GPP play and I am doing everything to avoid putting him in my cash games but the matchup is good and playing against LeBron might get him pumped up for tonight. Cash game play Lonzo Ball? Hmmm maybe?

Spencer Dinwiddie- He is getting over 30 minutes a night and he should have no problem bullying Jarrett Jack and Frank Ntilikina in the post and taking them to the hoop. Dinwiddie is 6’6 but he is a good play maker (six plus assist in 13 straight games) and he should have no problem getting around five boards tonight. He should be aggressive tonight and I am banking on anywhere from 30-40 fantasy points tonight. The Nets play at a fast pace and the Knicks average the fifth most turnovers per game, he could get us some steals and that will boost his value.

Other plays I like: Paying down for point guard might be the way I go tonight. There are some good cash game plays in Jordan Clarkson, Yogi Ferrell, Ish Smith or Frank Ntilikina make for solid plays. All will get at least 25 minutes tonight and if Clarkson takes over this game he can have a monstrous night.

Shooting Guard

Jimmy Butler- The old Jimmy Butler is finally showing up for the T-Wolves. During his last nine games, he has scored 40 or more fantasy points in eight of them. By paying down at point guard you can easily squeeze in Lebron and Butler tonight. This is the definition of a cash game play, good price, matchup and player who will get a ton of minutes. Lock and load.

Kentaviou Caldwell-Pope- There are two things that you can count on from KCP. First, Luke Walton will be dry humping his leg on the court and second, he will get us 35 minutes tonight. When he is aggressive on the offensive side of the ball he will easily get us 35-40 FD/DK points. It wouldn’t be right to write a cash game article and not have KCP in it. He is another lock and load in cash games tonight.

Other plays I like: Taurean Prince, Caris LeVert or Wesley Matthews

Small Forward

LeBron James- I am liking LeBron more than KD tonight but both are great plays. Who’s going to stop him on the Lakers? Ingram has sponge bob arms and KCP is too small to stop the King. Over the last four games he has scored over 60 fantasy points and he is averaging 28/8/9 on the season and tonight he will get a triple double, you heard it here first. The Lakers will give the Cavs everything they got tonight and the King will have no problem dominating the baby Lakers.

Kevin Durant- He is always in play and having him going in the late games will give you a big advantage. The Mavs play old man basketball but nobody on this team will slow him down. Curry and Green are both out and he will grab every rebound with his noodle arms and have no problem scoring at least 35 tonight. I am trying everything to squeeze in the LeBron and KD tonight.

Other plays I like: Kyle Kuzma, Jeff Green or Omri Casspi

Power Forward

Taj Gibson- He is the ultimate cash game play. He plays big minutes and should have no problem getting us around 30 fantasy points. He will be going up against Zach Randolph and this is the battle of ages, battle of the old man knees and the world’s smallest vertical. Safe play but he doesn’t have huge upside. This is a total make-out play until it gives you the bluest of balls, be warned this play won’t get you to the end that you were hoping too.

Jordan Bell- When Draymond is out, Jordan Bell is a lock in cash and GPP lineups. The kid can ball and at his low price he should give us value without too much difficulty. He has showed us that he can give us 10x value and if he hits that tonight, there will be a lot of no pants dancing going on tonight. Lock and load Bell tonight.

Other plays I like: Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber, Julius Randle, John Collins

Center

Karl Anthony-Towns- If you fade LeBron or KD tonight, KAT is in a great spot. He has scored over 50 fantasy points over his last three games and he will have no problem against the King’s big men. If you are going for a more balanced lineup tonight, KAT should be your building block tonight.

Willie Cauley-Stein- WCS played 30 minutes in his first game back and I have had recent success playing bigs against KAT. When he see’s big minutes and when he is in a good match-up he is a fantasy point per minute player. This game has sneaky upside and WCS should have no problem getting his tonight. He might be the sneaky ninja of the night.

Other plays I like: Kevin Love or Dwight Powell and John Collins on DK.

Dunks of the night: Jimmy Butler, LeBron James, Jordan Bell and Karl Anthony-Towns.
