DAILY DUNKS WITH DOTO

The late scratch got us again last night and it ruined most of our nights before they even got started. It’s tough but we need to put this behind us and let’s take a look at this seven game slate. There are a bunch of injuries that will affect the slate tonight. Joel Embiid (questionable), Kevin Love (questionable), Kawhi Leonard (probable), Robert Covington (questionable), Dennis Smith (out) and John Wall practiced in full on Monday but his status is still unknown. If Love is out this makes Lebron a must start, If Embiid is out I live Saric tonight and Kawhi has killed Rudy Gays value. If John Wall is back he might be a fade because of the high price and we aren’t sure how many minutes he will play.

Tonight, we have the four fastest teams in pace playing (Lakers, Suns, Nets, 76ers) all four teams play zero defense and all of their opponents get huge bumps up in pace and make them all in play.  What makes tonight interesting is there is only one healthy superstar playing tonight and that is LeBron. He should be highly owned and it might be hard to fade him because of the lack of star power going tonight. There aren’t any games that grabs my attention and tonight I will be picking and choosing plays from each game. This makes for a tough cash game night because of the lack of stars and we will have to take some chances. Let’s take a look at the cash game plays for tonight, good luck everyone.

Point Guard:

Dennis Schroder - Point guard is unusually ugly tonight. As a Hawks fan, I even hate recommending this play but Schroder is a good play tonight. It’s no secret that the Cavs are awful defending point guards and tonight feels like we can play Schroder in cash. He has a 30% usage rate and that is hard to ignore on any slate. However, LeBron might guard him and slow him down. Be warry of this tonight.

J.J. Barea - J.J. has scored 19.6 or more FD points in eight of his last ten games. His price is starting to rise a little bit but he had good success in the last game against the Spurs (39 FD points). He will see around 20-25 minutes and when he plays he looks to do one thing, score. He goes low owned but I will keep rostering him in my cash games because of his consistency. He’s a safe play tonight.

Other plays I like: Jordan Clarkson, Patty Mills

Shooting Guard:

Jimmy Butler - Jimmy Butler is getting a big bump in pace and now gets J.J. Reddick defense, sign me up! He seems to be the only consistent player on the T-Wolves besides KAT. He will get big minutes, a good matchup and he is playing up in pace. This match-up gets the sexual juices flowing and this will be one of my dunks of the night. Lock and load.

Buddy Hield - This type of game was meant for Buddy Hield. He gets a huge bump in pace and he has been getting at least 25 minutes a night over the last couple of games. He can throw up a dud but the Kings need to know who they got in the key piece of the Boogie Cousins trade last year. They need to let the kid play and tonight he could set a career high in scoring tonight.

Other plays I like: Dwayne Wade, KCP or Kent Bazemore

Small Forward:

LeBron James - The first thing you should do when you set your lineup tonight is lock and load King James in your lineup. If Embiid plays tonight that will help his ownership percentage but he will be at least 45% owned in big tournaments. In my cash games, I don’t care he is going into my lineup. Nobody on this slate has his upside and nobody on the Hawks can slow him down. If Kevin Love is out, Lebron is a lock for 60 FD/DK points tonight.

T.J. Warren - He is a fixture in my lineups and tonight is no different. Nobody on the Kings can stop him and he will get big minutes tonight. Again, big minutes in a good match-up just screams cash game locks for me. It’s a simple process but it works in cash games. This is a boring make-out play but sometimes that is enough to win money in our cash games.

Other plays I like:  Brandon Ingram, Andrew Wiggins, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

Power Forward:

LaMarcus Aldridge - I can’t stop playing this man and at this point I have accept that I have some type of Aldridge disease, I have Aldridgemeyda. Kawhi is back yes but there is no way knowing pop he will play big minutes and the offense should still run through Aldridge. Last game against Dallas he went bonkers and he was low owned. Since I am finding value at my other positions besides small forward, so I have plenty of cash left for him. He’s a safe play and he will still get big minutes, lock and load once again.

Jeff Green - Jeff Green’s price hasn’t gone up lately but he has been getting more minutes over the last week or so. It doesn’t matter if Kevin Love is ruled out tonight, he is a lock and load. Him and Wade run the second unit and he should give us around 20 points tonight. Let’s hope that Love is out just to make sure Green is good to put in our lineups, he played 30 minutes last game without Love.

Other plays I like: Dario Saric, Ersan Ilyasova, Julius Randle

Center:

Joel Embiid - His ownership will be low because of what happened last game with him. Opposing centers have dominated KAT and if Embiid plays, he will have a field day. I don’t get how he has so many different injuries and after a while he just needs to man up and play. If he wants to be considered one of the best bigs in the game he needs to play tonight and dominate KAT down low. This is a man up game for Embiid and I will take his low ownership and high upside tonight.

Karl Anthony-Towns - He is finally starting to shoot the ball and just like Embiid this is a game to show who is the best young big man in the game. He is too talented to be stopped and he will play big minutes again tonight. With or without Embiid he should still smash tonight. Back to back 50 point DK games is starting to make him a lock in my cash games tonight.

Other plays I like: whoever starts at center for the Suns. Jahlil Okafor is interesting but if we hear he will get around 25 minutes tonight he can be a sneaky play in tournaments.
